Intimacy Coordinators' Certification Programme

TIL x IPA certified intimacy coordinators will undergo a 20-week-long educational program that equips them to take on IC work in any industry worldwide.

The acceptance to this training program is very competitive of only 8 selected individuals, 4 of whom should be intending to work in industries other than in Mumbai, India. A diversity of candidates will be chosen for the class of 2024/25. This is because a smaller cohort allows for a qualitative and individualised training experience and the market in regional industries and other south Asian and Asian countries needs ICs.

IPA’s training program goes above and beyond the training requirements to become an IC as set forth by SAG-AFTRA, and all areas of training are examined through an intersectional lens. TIL takes this further and contextualises this education to its cultural setting, the local industry norms and challenges, and teaches practical implementation of the learned techniques.

Some of the topics covered in the program include:

  • Consent, Boundaries, and Power Dynamics

  • Intimacy Coordination Protocols

  • Communication and Conflict Negotiation Skills

  • Nudity and intimacy guidelines as published by The Intimacy Collective, In

  • Closed Set Protocols

  • Nudity/ Intimacy Riders

  • Choreography and Movement Coaching workshops

  • Diversity, Power, and Intimacy

  • Mental Health Awareness and Trauma-Informed care

  • Sexuality and Gender Literacy and How to Be an Advocate and Ally to LGBTQIA+ Cast and Crew

  • Sexual Harassment Laws within your country and their application

Applicants with prior experience working on TV, OTT and/or film sets have an advantage. Experience working in a field related to sexuality and/or advocacy (e.g. therapist, social worker, sex and relationship coach, etc.) is a plus!
